RHS Class of 1967 – 40-Year Reunion Weekend July 6, 7 & 8, 2007
The Friday Night Hospitality Mixer
On Friday evening, July 6, 2007, an informal "Welcome" Party for RHS ’67
Classmates & guests/spouses, hosted by RHS '67 Classmates Jeri (Georgia
Quinones) Alvera, Shirley (Murillo) Delgado, and Shirley's husband,
Michael Delgado, was held in Shirley & Michael's spacious corner suite. The
reception featured an open bar & a wide selection of blended beverages,
a variety of hors d'oeuvres & light refreshments, and a wrap-around
balcony that overlooked the resort’s Doral Championship Golf Course. The
suite included plenty of seating for classmates to chat and visit.
Later in the evening, the reception adjourned poolside, where several
classmates enjoyed a refreshing, late-night dip in the pool. Many
thanks to Jeri, Shirley, and Michael for their outstanding generosity
and warm hospitality!

The Reunion Dinner
Following the 6:00 p.m. registration, photo session, and reception, the
Oleander Ballroom at the Doral Desert Princess Resort was filled with RHS
’67 Classmates, guests, and family members. 40-Year Reunion Chairperson
Becky Stoney Bautista and Committee Member Gary Johnson, who shared emcee
honors throughout the evening, opened the event by welcoming everyone to
the festivities.
Becky introduced the members of the 40-Year Reunion Committee: Financial
Team – Cheryl (Baurhenn) McDaniel & Pam Martin; Facilities & Contract Liaison
Chairperson – Shirley (Murillo) Delgado; Table Décor Chairperson –
Hedy (Kempenaar) Thomas; and Members-At-Large – Gary Alba, Sue (Cadam) McIlroy,
Larry Crain, Mary (Field) Mayes, Debbie (Frame) Schopper, John Jacobsen,
Gary & Cheryl Johnson, Roy Mayes, Sammantha (Lynne Nichols) McDonald, Jeri

Before all of the military veterans in attendance were recognized,
Gary Schram shared information about the Marinelli Stadium Project and the Dedication
Ceremony that took place on Panther Field on June 19, 2007. As a part of
his remarks, Schram contacted Rod Marinelli via telecon and, on Rod’s behalf,
made a special presentation to Gary Alba.
Following the invocation, the D.J. began to play 60s dinner music, the
buffet and dessert tables were opened, and “reunioning” resumed in full
force. Periodically, the D.J. drew classmates’ names for the door prizes.
Gary Johnson asked questions about the events of 1967 and gave 60s music
CDs for the right answers. Becky Stoney Bautista awarded mementos to out-of-state
attendees, classmate couples, and classmates with the most children, grandchildren,
and (Yes!) great-grandchildren.

Classmates gathered informally and lingered over breakfast at the resort’s
restaurant, which overlooks the beautifully manicured golf course, to reminiscence
and share Alohas before returning home after the reunion.
The following two groups of pictures, provided by George Fairman
and
by Mary (Field) & Roy Mayes, are the first of the reunion photos to be posted
to the website. If you took pictures at the reunion, please forward them
to Becky Stoney Bautista at bautiscr@sce.com. Check back periodically –
